This is an excellent and interesting book. Easy to get sucked into even though almost every page is about something different. This series is ideal for those with short attention spans or for those who like myself don't normally read nonfiction.

I've been a fan of the Bathroom Reader series for awhile and this one is one of the better ones. The only problem I have with it is I wish it was longer, I just want to keep reading. This is a must have for the bathroom

Recycled Uncle John's Material Still a Winner!,
By Michael OConnor "Wordsmith" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Uncle John's True Crime: A Classic Collection of Crooks, Cops, and Capers (Paperback)
UNCLE JOHN'S TRUE CRIME, A CLASSIC COLLECTION OF CROOKS, COPS AND CAPERS features crime-related material lifted from over 100 previously published Bathroom Reader volumes. Despite that, it's still an appealing and educational read.As with other UJBR volumes, this 2011 release serves up a mix of quick reads, two-three page articles, four-five pagers and multi-part articles that examine crime topics in some depth. Included in this smorgasbord are the following: *the disappearance of Judge Crater; *strange prisoner lawsuits; *the 1911 theft of the Mona Lisa; *Johnny's Cash concerts at Folsom and San Quentin; *a history of the RCMP; *the helicopter jailbreaks of 'Kalashnikov Pat;' *serial killer quotes; *modern pirates; *dumb crooks; *weird sentences; *the disappearance of the Mary Celeste; *the Great Diamond Hoax of 1872; and *the Dashiell Hammett story. Being an avid Bathroom Reader fan, I did get a vague sense of deja vu paging through UNCLE JOHN'S TRUE CRIME. However, since I haven't read all the UJBR volumes used to compile this book, there were some new items to tickle my trivia fancy. And, in truth, the whole compilation, with its focus on crime, was entertaining. Trivia buffs and crime afficiandos alike will enjoy UNCLE JOHN'S TRUE CRIME. It's interesting and fun and only $9.95! Recommended.

Another great title in this series.,

Like all of "Uncle John's" books, this is a super-sized book full of stories, facts, trivia, and more. However, where most "Uncle John's" books are a varying collection of articles, this book has gathered together stories of "true crimes". The articles are divided according to length, (or sitting session). Very little of this book is new content, most articles have been published in previous Uncle John books. The book seems be be well researched, and many of the longer articles set the record straight on many infamous crimes that have had the true facts muddled by history. This would be an entertaining read for a true crime buff, and would make an interesting addition to anyone's "reading room."

I personally haven't read these books, but I buy every single one that comes out for my father. He always gets one of the new releases for his birthday, Father's Day and Christmas. He absolutely loves them and sometimes reads them over again! He's always telling me about some of the funny facts he reads in them. When he's finished with one, he loans it to one of his friends. Key word here is "LOAN" since my father makes sure he gets it back so he can add it to his huge collection! If you like humor and facts, you'll love any of the Uncle John's Bathroom Reader books.
