First off, I have to say, cannot wait for the movie! Just curious to see how it will translate to film. The story is a true one of how a boy grew up with an alcoholic Father. It then goes to show how that boy grew into a manand how God transformed that man and his anger and hatred towards his own father for the abuse he endured.
It is a very hard story to read and at times I did cringe, but Josh focused more on God and how he used that experince to mold Josh and make him what he is today. This story goes to show how we never understand why people do the things they do, but putting Faith and trust in God can turn that turmoil or situation around and use it for his glory.
I would reccomend this book, although I felt it was a heavy read at times, I still couldn;t put it down.

I was intrigued when I saw Josh McDowell had written a memoir. His "More Than a Carpenter" book was one of the first Christian books I read over 20 years ago. I was drawn into Josh's life story which was often heartbreaking but amazingly hopeful and miraculous.

Have just read this and would definitely recommend it to any adult. This would make a great gift, for either a believer or a non-believer. Very readable, including strong argument for accepting the claims of Christ.

This book is a captivating account of one mans interaction with the living God. It is probably most suited to those who also know God. The preaching of the cross is to those who perish...foolishness.
