My favorite Dragonland album by far, maybe even my favorite album of all time. Best Symphonic Metal album out there, if you like symphonic metal, this album is a must have.

Amazing album as expected. Heavy, fast and epic storylines. Each musician has so much talented in there own right. New drummer is fast as hell and guitars sound heavy with technincal parts thrown in at all parts of a song. Vocals are top notch amazing voice. Great album!

I greatly enjoyed this album, as I have all the previous albums. Its a return to thier roots. If you enjoyed Holy War & The Battle of the Ivory Plains I imagine you will like this album. Every album by Dragonland stands on its own and its a testament to the craftsmanship and talent of each member within the band. I hope Dragonland will also put out another album in the likeness of Astronomy, as I have enjoyed the diversity that album brought to the line up.

Don't let this band's name scare you away June 30 2013

I seriously did not take this band for serious when I first heard about them. Dragonland I said, that is pretty lame. However based on a friend's suggestion I bought this album and I am thankful everyday a song off it pops up on my shuffle that I did because Under The Grey Banner is symphonic power metal done right. The album tells an epic story that will suck you in and take you on an adventure. The D&D player in me loved every second of it. There is not a weak moment at all, and so many elements clash at one another over the course of this album. The production is clear and crisp, the vocals are masterfully done, and the instruments masterfully played. You can call me a fan of Dragonland and I will say it with pride.

My favorite tracks off this album: A Thousand Towers White, The Black Mare, and Under the Grey Banner

Best music I've heard in years April 24 2012

I've always liked Dragonland, even if I wouldn't call them one of my favorites. I was a huge fan of Starfall and Astronomy, but wasn't too impressed with their earlier albums, Battle on the Ivory Plains and Holy War. In fact, I plain didn't like them. So it was with much trepidation that I purchased Under the Grey Banner.

It is lightyears beyond anything else Dragonland has ever done. To say I was surprised with how good it is is an extreme understatement. This is better than anything else since Fairyland's '09 release, Score to a New Beginning, and may even match it. I long thought that StaNB would be my all-time favorite album, but Under the Grey Banner is a serious contender. If you're interested in Dragonland enough to even read this review, you should buy this album. You will not regret it.

Great symphonic power metal! March 29 2013

Most bands of this type run the risk of coming across as cheesy. Not so with this band. Absolute brilliance from start to finish and a couple of slower melodic tunes to keep things sounding fresh and putting a break between some of the faster songs. I really don't see how they are going to top this album, but I do look forward to them trying. I cannot recommend this album enough.
