About the Author

Professor Jane Plant, one of the UK's leading scientists, wrote the international bestseller Your Life In Your Hands after successfully treating herself for breast cancer after the fifth appearance of the disease. She and her friend and fellow scientist Gill Tidey then worked together on expanding the recipes and meal plans, and wrote The Plant Programme. This work led to them exploring new areas in which nutrition can be used to help conquer disease. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars This should be taught at school Sept. 8 2012

The simple cover of the book does not do justice to what lies within. Jane Plant,a top scientist (her CV is on her website) talks in great detail about the probable causes of osteoporosis, how they are different than what you think, and what you can do to protect yourself. Like most people I grew up hearing about elderly people falling and breaking their hips and this always worried me. After reading this book you will be much better informed and equipped to take care of yourself. This book dovetails with other major books such as The China Study, Forks over Knives, Your Life in Your Hands (again by Jane Plant) and others. Don't miss it.
