Product Description

With a focus on coral reefs, Underwater Eden illuminates the fantastic colors, array of textures, and countless bizarre shapes and forms of undersea life.

Beneath the surface of the world’s most exotic seas and oceans—from the Red Sea and the coast of Costa Rica to the Great Barrier Reef and Palau Islands—lie spectacularly diverse ecosystems that only a privileged few have had the opportunity to view up close and in person. Jeffrey Rotman has spent more than thirty years diving in these waters to capture their breathtaking beauty and the stunning richness and variety of the creatures that inhabit them. .

The book’s extended captions are written by Rotman and contain scientific facts and trivia interspersed with personal anecdotes and insights gained from decades of observation. Underwater Eden grants readers 365 days of unprecedented access into a strange and captivating world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful work, Jan 17 2008
By Brenda Pink "snorkelgeek" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Underwater Eden: 365 Days (Hardcover)
As someone with the nickname "snorkelgeek" you know I don't take these kinds of books lightly! This is an amazing look into the undersea world that even those of us who snorkel, don't often see. There are creatures in this book that I never knew existed and am now excited about possibly seeing the next time I'm under water.

This book will be flipped through often enough to become dog-eared, I'm sure! Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful book. What I love most about it is that each picture is on its own page, rather than spread over two. You can appreciate the work without the distortion of being split. Wonderful photographs. Enjoyable descriptions. Makes a great gift.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as great as Earth from Above, July 8 2008

I love the Earth from Above so bought this thinking the photography level would be equivalent... but many of the photos lack that "wow" factor.

If you are looking for an interesting coffee table/guest room book, I would highly recommend the Earth From Above before this one.

This book is interesting... just not quite up to my expectations.
