The third installment of this series was helmed by Andre Tatopoulous, well respected in the industry for his artistic talents and creature work. So I guess it's not surprising that this film is crammed full of CG and amazing creature effects. As yet another pre-quel to the original Len Wiseman hit Underworld, it's probably the weakest link in the series - though it still is stronger than many of it's fellows in the genre. A feast for the eyes with stellar photography,emotive pacing, break-neck action and fight sequences. The cast is incredible beyond all expectation, the plot absorbing and cathartic. Fans of the series get their fill of the backstory of the series, before only hinted at in previous installments. Had Shakespeare kitted Romeo and Juliet with swords, fangs and claws we would have the story of Lucien and Sonja told by the bard himself.
