Product Description

Review

“If any book deserves to be called “The Felt Maker’s Bible,” this is it. White, founder of Magpie Designs Felting Studio (www.magpiefelt.com), pours a rich draught of felt-making information into this manual, covering basic felt-making techniques as well as needle, nuno, cobweb, 3-D, and carved techniques and featuring 46 projects. But what makes this a title of lasting value for libraries is the depth of solid information it offers on the craft and its history, on various artists, and on related topics like setting up a felt-making studio, teaching felt making, and leading community felt-making projects. Highly recommended for large public and academic libraries”. – Library Journal, April 15, 2008 (starred)

I used to make felt the traditional way many years ago, when children were small. It was my way of getting to use some pent up creativity while children were sleeping! It is a beautiful craft. I have been expanding my art quilts to incorporate more embellishing and techniques and I came across this book on my journey. Oh, this brought me back to happy days! It is a book that every fiber/textile artist should have in their arsenal! It is well researched, written and over the top with information. The BEST money spent on a book for techniques and ideas. This author/artist has really contributed to my next level of creativity!

I love this book - both for its practical advice and its 'dream factor', considering all the interesting ideas and ways to apply its contents. It is a thorough book with information on a wide range of felting techniques and projects.

My favourite felting resource by far.

This book exceeded my expectations. It's big and thorough. It has loads of information on techniques, projects, materials. I am a beginner at felting and I think this book will be a resource I consult even years down the road. It starts at the basics and progresses to much more complicated techniques and projects. Illustrations and explanations are very clear and well written. If you want a book on felting, choose this one!
