My favorite atlas, Dec 13 2009

I love this atlas, and have been purchasing American Maps atlases for at least five years. It is indispensable to have one in your vehicle. I find them easier to read than atlases made by Rand McNally, to whom I used to be loyal.
In response to REJ's review, spanning state maps across several pages allows more detail to be printed. Of course, for local street-level detail, you will need to purchase a map of the area of interest.
It is likely that REJ had trouble planning his long trip because of one shortcoming of the atlas in particular: there are no regional maps, only state maps and one map of the entire continental United States. If you are planning an interstate road trip, you need regional maps, or you need to use computer or Internet mapping software, such as Google Maps.

Best Atlas I have used, Dec 7 2009

I have used many of the "name brand" atlases through the years--all have pros and cons--but I like this one better than any and the 2010 version is the fourth year I have bought this one. Easy to read, accurate, bound so it can be folded back or lie flat, and pages are somewhat spill proof. I will stick with this one!

Considering how inexpensive this great atlas is and how durable and user friendly it is, the atlas is WONDERFUL! I would highly recommend.
