Universal Harmony,
By Stella Carrier "powerfulcommunicator" (Hyattsville Maryland) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Ch5 Universal Religion (Audio CD)
There are three words that I feel accurately describe Universal Religion Chapter Five: Musical Aural Bliss. This collection appeals to vocal trance listeners, and those that are fine with listening to songs that contain only music. This is because "Universal Religion" contains both types of tracks. My two favorite tracks on "Universal Religion: Chapter Five" are "Fight the Fire" by Andy Moor (featuring Sue McLaren) and "An Angel's Love" by Alex M.O.R.P.H. (featuring Sylvia Tosun). "Fight The Fire" is about having passionate feelings for another person. "An Angel's Love" appears to be about being in love with someone that brings the essence of happiness to themselves and those around them. "Universal Religion Chapter Five" is recommended for the many who would like to listen to some of the most recent trance music.

A great addition to the Universal Religion series,

I started this review with 5 starts, but after listening to the album again, I couldn't justify giving it as good a rating as Universal Religion 2008. While I believe it's a much better mix than Chapter 4, the transitions between some of the first few songs are rough, and not as buttery smooth as I've come to expect from Armin. The energy is definitely there, and it's a completely different vibe than the ASOT series; however, as a fan of vocal trance, the utter lack of vocals until tracks 5/6 really turns me off to most of the first disc. I can't help but feel it's just not as good as some of the other albums I've been listening to this year (BT's These Hopeful Machines, ASOT 2011, and John O'Callaghan's Unfold).Bottom line: Definitely better than Chapter 4, and very close to the excellent 2008 album. A great addition to Universal Religion series. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful

Great album, but not quite on par with the rest of the series,
By K. Bradford "Woot!" - Published on Amazon.com
I'm a huge fan of the Universal Religion Series, and UR chapter 4 is probably my favorite mix that I have. But this one just doesn't feel like it quite measures up. For the most part the tracks are very good (I can't get enough of "Brute") but there is something that just seems to be missing here. The mixing is a little off especially some of the transitions at the beginning of disc 1.Maybe I'm just not used to it yet, and I might come back after playing through it a few more times (it's definitely good enough for a few more run throughs) to update my review, but I'm just not quite sold on this edition. UR4 had a ton of ups and downs, highs and lows, but this one just feels flat to me. Overall it's still a good album and I would recommend it to anyone who's a fan of Armins, but it just feels like a bit of step back. Just my opinion though! Both other reviewers said they thought this was a step up from 4, so I might just be insane. =) Enjoy! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful

Armin van Buuren has done it again this is the best of the Universal Religion series, this CD makes it a must have for your collection. This CD is Armin's live performance from Izbia and this must be said; this is the reason why people from all over pay to see this man DJ and he does not let them down. I said in other reviews that he is in my eyes the best DJ in the world and this CD proves it.If you are a fan of trance and house you will not be disappointed. The first CD take you on a journey I like track #3 Darko, track #4 Space Odyssey, track #5 Falling Away (the AVB remix), Track#12 Helion and track #14 Brute (Ferry Corsten ft. AVB)these tracks will get you moving and rocking I cannot stop listening it. Disk #2 I like track #4 Elegia, track #5 Colours (the AVB remix), track #6 Mansion these are excellent dance tracks. In general I like this CD alot better than Universal Religion 4 and I gave it 5 stars no complaints here. Armin Van Buuren just lost his title of DJ100's best DJ in the world (4 straight years) to David Guetta and there is no way he can be number 1. When he can put out CD's like ARMIN he will at his level but as of right now he is not. This is ARMIN's 3rd or 4th CD he came out within the past year and a half. If he decides to do more remixes of this CD it would another feather in his cap!! I think 2012 will be a big year for ARMIN I have heard that he is trying to incorporate a theaterical production with a live musicians in his live sets and if he can pull this off he will regain his rightfully own title of best DJ in the world. ARMIN VAN BUUREN is the go to guy when trance DJ's want their songs remixed and visa versa. If ARMIN decides to go mainstream (which I believe he won't) he would make mincemeat out these so-called DJ's and producers but he is a man true to his style and I do not believe he needs to go that route. |
