“A world-class mystery writer…I try to put Woods’s books down and I can’t.”—Houston Chronicle

“Woods’s Stone Barrington is a guilty pleasure…he’s also an addiction that’s harder to kick than heroin.”—Contra Costa Times (California)

Product Description

In Stuart Woods’s bestselling series, Stone Barrington discovers that some jobs don’t pay…

When a hedge fund billionaire hires Stone Barrington to talk some sense into his wayward son, it seems like an easy enough job; no one knows the hidden sins and temptations of the ultra-wealthy better than Stone. But as Stone and his erstwhile protégé, Herbie Fisher, probe deeper into the case—and an old one comes back to haunt him—he realizes that even he may have underestimated just how far some people will go to cover up their crimes—and commit new ones…

Stuart Woods has always been a favorite. We can't wait for the next book to come out. My husband and I both found this one of his best. You get to know the characters and it is like meeting a good friend. The Stone Barrington ones are the best. It was fast moving and some good surprises. We have to give it five stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unnatural Acts of overblown people Jan. 24 2013
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
A waste of time; everybody, it seems, is heroic [or contemptible] in the most 'wannabe' terms. Money, great accomodation, superior wines and food, expensive clothes, big-ticket watches and jewellery - all of them stand in the way of plot development. One might as well take a stroll through a Neiman Marcus catalogue. I gave up about half way through the book and read the last few pages to see the ending, since conspicuous spending seemed to be the real reason for this me-me-me outing.
