As Good As You Think It Will Be,
By
This review is from: Hitman (Unrated Bilingual Edition) (DVD)
For the longest time I would see this movie on the shelf at various stores or rental outlets and think about getting it. For the longest time I didn't because I never read anything about the movie and I thought that the lead actor was Billy Zane, I can't stand Billy Zane. It was only after reading another online review that I saw it was Timothy Olyphant, who I really enjoyed in HBO's Deadwood. Having never played the games, I can't comment on how true the movie is to the game's story, characters or events. As an action movie it was pretty good. The overall idea of people raised from a young age to fight and kill is not very original. The fight scenes are good with different sequences that don't feel repetative. The plot line is thin but at least moves at a steady pace. I definetely enjoyed it but I don't think I will be watching it again.

Give us your unwanted, your unloved, your bald,

The best description of this movie is "based on the video game of the same name".From this, you know that you can expect graphic violence, awesome weaponry and zero plot, and this movie delivers all of those. Short Attention Span Summary (SASS) 1. Give us your unwanted, your unloved, your bald - so we can bar code them and make assassins out of them 2. We're not against putting out contracts on our own, if necessary, to spice things up 3. Doubles are usually trouble 4. Even assassins like having a pretty face around, even if they don't know what to do with the body attached 5. The Russians are coming 6. Dying with dignity now involves swords 7. He really IS quite charming when he's not killing people Fans of the video game would probably rate this 4 stars or more, people who need a cohesive plot, maybe less. I'll give it 3.5 for the guns, gore and lack of gravitas. Amanda Richards

This review is from: Hitman (Unrated Bilingual Edition) (DVD)
