This review is from: Utamaro: Portraits from the Floating World (Paperback)
Unbelievable. Utamaro is the best for depicting Geisha and Japanese women. Although Harunobu produced also
very good woodblock prints. Since I am a lover of everything Japanese this book has a special place on my
coffee table next to a Japanese teapot. Nothing else, because clutter would disturb the beauty of this outstanding
book. I recommend it to all who love Japanese history and style.
I am still looking to find a book about Harunobu though.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good basic introduction, Dec 11 2008
By David Stokes - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Utamaro: Portraits from the Floating World (Paperback)
This is a good beginner's book about Utamaro. The text is brief and easy to follow and a selection of the most well known prints are illustrated so it's a good starter guide if you're encountering Utamaro for the first time and just want a basic introduction.
