The real reason for the Misfits' prolonged life-after-death is that underneath the three-chord bluster, campy imagery, and pancake makeup there are some great, catchy, pop-hook-driven tunes. Not to mention that no one can sing "whoaah-whoaaah-whoooooaaah!" like the Elvis-impersonating, golden-throated superboy Danzig. But even the most die-hard Misfits freak must surely tire of listening to version after version--7-inch take, live recording, previously unreleased demo--of two-minute punk songs like "We Are 138," "Rat Fink," "Halloween," and "Braineaters" off the bazillion bootlegs and dozen-plus authorized releases from this short-lived act. Collection II does compile some of the Misfits' most collectible vinyl artifacts, like the groovy "Cough/Cool" single. But it's recommended for fans only, who probably already own more than one copy. --Mike McGonigal

This cd is good but it's only half an hour long.Some of the best songs are We Are 138,Last Caress,Cough/Cool,and Return of the Fly. your better off with collection 1.NOT FOR SIMPLE PLAN POSERS

I'm not a Misfits fan by nature. In my book, the schtick got a little old pretty fast, and the new version of the Misfits is god awful horse manure. But I have to say that if, like me, you do like a few of their tunes, then "Collection II" rocks.There are a lot of great tunes on this record, regardless of what genre of music you listen to. "We Are 138", "We Bite", "Halloween", "Cough/ Cold", "Last Careess", "Hatebreeders". Almost every track on this record just rocks. There are a few that I think are really bad, like the unlistenably bad "Halloween 2", which is just straight up gibberish and waste of yours and my time. And I wish they would've thrown on "She", "Bullet" and "Die, Die My Darling" so I wouldn't need to get an of their other records. But you can't judge a record by whats not on it, can you? Overall though, "Collection II" is quick, melodic and humorous and cool record that is worth your time and money. Even if your not a big fan of the band.

A worthy introduction to the Misfits for new fans, "Collection II" compiles some of the band's best and most recognizeable songs like the classic "We Are 138", "Attitude", "Cough/Cool", "Last Caress", "Return of the Fly", "Halloween", "Braineaters", "Devil's Whorehouse", and the demonic "Bloodfeast", "Collection II" is pure Misfits style toungue in cheek punk. While this disc may not be as great as "Static Age" or "Walk Among Us", and it features tracks that can be found on other Misfits releases, this is still an excellant album that fully displays how real punk rock is done. Glenn Danzig's unholy howl will send chills down your spine, so put down your Good Charlotte and Blink 182 CD's and give this a listen.
