I purchased the VGA SVGA to S-Video 3 RCA TV AV Converter Cable Adapter from eForCity a few months ago. They shipped it immediately. Unfortunately the device did not work on my system and I suspected that perhaps it was defective. I contacted them and they quickly responded and were happy to send out a replacement unit. However, I went on holidays shortly after writing them ... the replacement arrived within days of my initial contact but I was not able to even test it until 6 weeks later (when I arrived back home). Now most companies would say "I'm sorry, you have had this part for two months now; we can not help you." BUT not these people ... I was disappointed to see that this part just does not interact properly with my equipment and again I contacted eForCity about this matter. Without a single hassle, they responded immediately with a friendly and efficient manner and a refund was credited to my account within a few days. Although I can't comment about the part itself, as I don't know why it didn't work properly with my equipment (faulty part? incompatible?) ... I can not say enough good feedback about the company itself. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND eForCity - they are very friendly, efficient, and professional.

Unlike what most people think of, this adapter is made to plug in an RCA enabled device onto a VGA-in display. Perfect if you wanna hook up consoles or DVD players on a computer screen. The only thing I dislike about this is the useless audio RCA inputs, which are totally useless since VGA does NOT support audio. In that case, I'd recommend buying a little 3.5mm to phono RCA adapter so you can get your audio out of your PC speakers.

(update to original review)
I was contacted by the seller with a very polite message and sent me a refund for the product. I must say I was surprised for the quality of the customer service. Too bad the product didn't work as expected, but at least they care about the customers.

Original review:
The product arrived almost 7 weeks after I placed the order. I thought it was already lost.

Anyway, I bought this cable based on the description, thinking it would be enough to connect my laptop to my TV and have my laptop content projected in the TV (very simple). I'm not an expert in technical matters, but by reading the product description I thought this was what I needed. The point is after connecting my computer's VGA-out to this cable and then the RCA cables to the TV (I used the corresponding male extension cables) nothing happened. The TV didn't detected any signal.

So I'm not sure if the cable doesn't work or maybe my expectations on the product are incorrect and a simple cable like this is not I needed to project my computer into my TV. In that case the information in the product description is kind of misleading.

Be careful before ordering it. It's a cheap cable yes, but nobody likes to waste money.

This product does not work in any scenario I have tried. I tried from my PC out to my television, from my dvd player to my PC monitor and from my xbox 360 to my PC monitor. None worked. I am very dissastisfied.

They should have pointed out that this product only connects the devices and a *converter* is needed. Now that I have gone through the whole process and bought three products to figure this thing out, I can interpret their words, but they're really not being clear with a non-expert buyer. Haven't had a chance to determine if it does what it's suppose to do.

Tried to use it as described, but no output of video or audio from RCA connectors or from S video. Checked wiring had continuity to pins on VGA.

Maybe problem is from DVI adapter (bought separately) to VGA, then to RCA via this adapter. My PC has DVI output.

I had to buy a VGA converter box to solve my problem and did not use this adapter.

This is a neat product and works but you must necessarily buy the necessarily order the Generic Lake Pc To Tv Converter Box Compatible With Windows And Mac (Vga To Rca / Vga To S-Video) box or IT WILL NOT WORK! I know others have said this in reviews but for those stubborn people who think it will work just fine...it will not. I wish I knew why because I thought a video signal is a video signal but it seems not to work without this. I think the compatibility may have something to do with this: Video standards: NTSC/NTSC-EIAJ/PAL/PAL-M/PAL-N/SECAM (via RGB out); Resolutions supported: 640 x 480 (up to 85 Hz) listed at the site and the box somehow makes the video signals compatible.
