Product Description

From Amazon.ca

The Valeo burst-resistant 55-centimeter body ball helps improve your core strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and muscle tone, making it an ideal addition to your exercise arsenal. Sitting on the body ball forces your body to stay balanced, thereby strengthening your stabilizing muscles and core. As a result, the exercise ball makes a terrific desk chair. As an alternative, you can design an extremely effective workout routine using the ball as a bench for dumbbell flies, shoulder presses, or ab crunches. Packaged with a workout DVD, a dual-action air pump, a wall chart with a step-by-step exercise program, plugs, and a measuring tape, the ball is a terrific choice for users of all exercise levels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, but small Sept. 20 2008
By Sadie - Published on Amazon.com
Size Name:55 cm|Verified Purchase
What the description of this ball doesn't tell you is that 55m is for people 5' to 5'3". I'm 5'6", so it's a bit small for me. However, the ball itself, is very sturdy and will hold weight up to 330 lbs (also, not mentioned in the description). I didn't have any trouble with the pump. While taking the ball to the gas station and filling it up would have been quick, I just considered manually inflating the ball as additional exercise. The hand pump works well and there's a tape measure so you know exactly how far to blow up. There's a slight plastic smell at first, but it goes away by the time the ball is blown up. The wrinkling of the ball will go away within the first 24 hours it's blown up. I'm keeping this smaller ball to do Pilate exercises with and getting a larger ball for core work. Really, the reason why I'm only giving this 4 stars is because the description is not complete enough to allow someone to make the proper purchase in the first place. The quality of the ball is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real fun ball for the aged. Oct. 1 2008

I love this ball and it gets me off the couch. I am 80 years old and can do most of the beginning exercises except the walk back onto the ball. Walking down is easy and truly stretches the back. The pump was very easy for me to use. The ball has held its air superbly. It also serves me to reach overhead, forward, side to side and backward, thus; stretching ever muscle. The walk the ball up the wall serves not only the back but the legs. I recommend this ball highly!

5.0 out of 5 stars Birth Ball Oct. 4 2009
By Lori A. Ostrowski - Published on Amazon.com
Bought this as a birth ball - found out after I bought it that not only can you use it during labor, but it also is quite a comfy seat for the last few weeks of pregnancy. Bought the medium size at the advice of other reviews I read, even though I am only 5'2". That was good advice - definitely buy a size bigger than you think - you can always under-inflate it a little too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I need July 19 2008

This is nothing special, but it's just what I wanted for a good price. It even comes with a DVD with a few ideas for exercises, as well as a replacement plug and a measuring tape to make sure you don't over- or underinflate it. I'm 5'1" and it's almost too big for me. I'm not sure that a smaller one would have been better, but this works well enough. I really enjoy the added difficulty it provides for my exercising.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big, Strong, and Perfect. July 18 2008

I am not a small person...250lbs and about 6' tall. I bought this to use as a desk chair after seeing one of my favorite journalists using it. Much to my amazement...it works. I sit on it 3-4 hours a day and its perfect height for me to use as a desk chair and work on a computer. I have used it for occasional back exercising and it works well for that too.

The price and shipping from Amazon are awesome....I would highly recommend this item...as a chair and as a exercise ball.
