I LOVED it!!! Grouchy Conner finally gets his mate! I loved Connor and Marille together.

As normal Kerrelyn made me laugh throughout the book. But she also made me cry not far into the book, if you have been following the series you will know why I cried when you get to it in the book.

I love the sarcastic humor in all of Kerrelyn's books =)

I can't wait for Gregori's story to be told!

Anyone who has never read a Kerrylyn Sparks book before would probably love love this book. It is a great story and a great book, overall. However, compared to her previous Love at Stake books, this one just falls short. I love the plot and the characters, but something was lacking. I usually get sucked into the stories and fall in love with the heroes and that didn't happen this time. Maybe it was the lack of hot sex scenes? Those were seriously lacking in this book. **Spoiler Alert** The fight scenes at the end were a little anti-climactic as well. The entire series has been working towards defeating Casimir and it was almost an afterthought in the plot when Connor killed him.

Overall, compared to other books in the genre Vampire Mine is a great book. Compared to the other Love at Stake books, though, it falls way short.

I'm just going to get to the point. This was a cute book. That is the reason I say my heart is broken. The dialogue was funny at times and this angel is cute, but not what I pictured a strong angel to be. This story spands seven days, and I understand the pull of love, but the interaction between the two characters was not as hot or as sizzling as the other books Sparks writes. The love scene is disappointing, the Vamp/Malcontents fight is anti-climatic, and the demon/angel struggle was a dud. Don't get me wrong I liked the book, but that's what is such a disappointment I LIKED it and didn't go wild crazy in love with it. It also bothered me that the entire time Connor is mentally chastizing himself saying he is a cold hearted SOB, which felt more like self pity to me, only to turn around and go after the angel with little, if any resistance. Sparks has a hard time delivering on this book, but that won't stop me from reading anything else she writes. She is my favorite author still, thats why I decided to give the book four stars.

UPDATE: I don't know how many of you go onto K. Sparks website, but apparently our author has decided not to end this series, and the next story will be Grogori. I am confused how she is going to continue with this series, since all her main and bigtime characters are already married and having babies. I hope she does not drag this series out. I really hate it when authors diviate from the main story line. She would really BREAK MY HEART if she did that.
