An excellent book if you feel the lead singer is the only band member that matters. As a picture source the book scores big. However, if you are a fan you will love it in spite of its shortcomings.

Warning...this book is very very very pro-DLR. Very. It is so slanted towards that viewpoint, it's almost unreadable to a really big-time VH fan. The only good part is the pictures.

This is a very rare but very awesome book. I would recommend this to ANY Van Halen fan. The book features the perfect blend between detailed picture book and detailed history book. There are PLENTY of pictures spawning all of the Van Halen eras (Minus Cherone, as the book was written while Sammy was in the band). It isn't the best Van Halen book out there, but if I had to choose I would recommend this over some other picture books out there. I was lucky and got my copy for very, very cheap and it was in pristine condition. It's an excellent addition to my collection.
