I first stumbled across these books over a decade ago. Since then, I have read the series to myself several times. I have also read them outloud to my wife.The author's writing style makes EXTREMELY easy and relaxed reading. A blend of wit, sarcasm, and action make the books FUN FUN FUN! The story is interesting. The characters are loveable! Everything has its place. I whole heartedly reccomend this trilogy! My copies have been passed around among my friends - and everyone agrees - these are GREAT! My wife is re-reading The Son of the Hero for the third time now!

I've read a lot of SciFi/Fantasy and this series is one of the best. Most of the books being written today have very predictable plot twists; not this one! I agree whole heartedly with the reader from Louisiana - Mr Shelley, please let us know what happens to Gil next!If you can't find these books in your local used book stores, try Amazon's ... used book location service. I've had good luck with both.
