Best record of 2006 yet,
By Sam Doucette (Quebec Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Veneer (Audio CD)
This is a very dark and nostalgic record and it is also an uplifting one. Jose Gonzalez has a very soft voice and some awesome guitar picking skills! The comparaison with Nick Drake is unevitable but I think Gonzalez's music is even more intense. As the summer is ending, this album is definitly among my best purchases of 2006 yet.

An excellent album...Crosses and Heartbeats two great singles. A talented singer/songwriter and great guitar player.

Swedish music at its best,
By Runesson (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Veneer (Audio CD)
This record was originally released in 2003 back in Sweden. It has been on my permanent play list ever since. The one song that sticks out is the 4th track Heartbeats; this song alone will make you want to buy the record. The lyrics are well written and combined with the mellow sound of the music it makes the record perfect to listen to at anytime. At a first glance the songs seems pretty similar but the more you listen to it the more you start to appreciate the individuality of all the songs. It scores 5/5 mainly because it has been on my play list for over 2 years now.
