Product Description

Review

"My one week experiment with veganism, inspired by Lauren Ulm's book Vegan Yum Yum, was a revelation to me. I not only survived, but thrived without dairy and meat in my diet... Vegan Yum Yum has a huge range of inspiring recipes. The photo of the seitan black corn bean burger is pure, classy food porn that makes its carnivorous rivals in the fast food ads look like cheap white trash. I was worried about what the desserts would be like as I'm usually a cream fiend, but I need not have feared as I fell head over heels for the blueberry grunts recipe."

About the Author

Lauren Ulm, "Lolo," is a vegan foodie and founder of veganyumyum.com who lives in Boston with her husband and two cats. She is not a chef, has never been to culinary school, and she's not a professional photographer (but she has fun pretending!) When she went vegan in 2002, the kitchen became her favorite room in the house, and still is today. She has appeared on The Martha Stewart Show and has been featured in Vegetarian Times. The recipes are fairly simple and delicious. I have tried several and not been disappointed. The Hurry Up Alfredo Sauce on p. 195 has become a regular staple in our house and is absolutely scrumptious! Thankfully there is a photo accompanying each recipe.

A vegetarian for 35 years, I have just recently explored veganism. This book has the most wonderful recipes in it and recommend it for those, like me, who are new to vegan eating and want real taste in their food.

I picked this up a while ago, I was looking for a new cookbook and liked the title. I really like this book because it has a good variety of quick and more fancy recipes and doesn't use many obscure ingredients. I really love some of the super quick (like 10 minute!) pasta recipes, great for when I'm feeling lazy.

As new vegans, my husband and I have been building our collection of delicious recipes. This book is simply amazing! Every recipe turns out so wonderfully; it makes us feel like chefs. The flavours are always well balanced and nothing is ever bland or boring. We honestly believe that it should be the first book in every new vegan's library. It makes becoming vegan a real treat!
