I first bought the Ready to Paint Watercolour Flowers...I really enjoyed working with that bookSo I then ordered another in the series Ready to Paint Vibrant Flowers in Watercolour....This too gives you the ability to trace your picture and that is good.. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the pictures used paper that was 11x16 ...I already had Watercolor pads but 11x15 inch.I guess I need to buy bigger sizes..and the finished product picture was split on two pages...it should have been a fold out page , easier to refer back to when you're working on your project.
But the process of painting was fun, especially with the detailed illustrations...I'm a novice at watercolors so some of the terminology was beyond me, but going on line to different sites helped me understand how to use my paints.
All in all it's a good book and can be reused over and over.

I started watercolor painting about 10 months ago. Some of the trace and paint are easier than others. I have done two of them so far and both times it was easy and results excellent.I would recommend this book for those just starting out, as it is less complicated than others.

I bought this book for my wife who is battling cancer and needed something to help her along now that she is just getting in to watercolor painting. She has always loved watercolor art and decided watercolor would be something to help get her mind off a lot of aches, pains, and emotional stress she has to deal with on a daily basis. But we learned right away that neither of us were very good at drawing, so that caused most of her efforts to add only to the gloom. This book was the answer to her situation. I looked at a lot of instructional watercolor books and decided on this one. We both like the style and look of Fiona's flowers, I call them vibrant and my wife calls them happy. Transferring the picture outlines to the paper is so much easier than me trying to sketch something that doesn't look like it was done by a fourth grader with a broken hand. Now my wife can paint away and feel that she is accomplishing what she set out to do. The instruction is easy to understand and apply, plus the pictures do not have a bunch of tedious work involved. Now my wife says she wants one of Fiona's DVDs. I do recommend this book. We are both very happy with it.
