More importantly, the unit contains 16 stainless-steel and plastic tools appropriate for just about any occasion. The standard tools include a large blade, a small blade, a can opener with a small screwdriver, a bottle opener with a large screwdriver and wire stripper, and a small set of scissors. And that's just the beginning, as the Deluxe Tinker also offers mini pliers with a wire cutter, a reamer with a sewing eye, a Phillips screwdriver, a hook, a toothpick, tweezers, and a key ring. In short, there's no better accessory for camping, hunting, and fishing trips, along with general around-the-house tasks.

In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. Outfitted with a plastic housing, the Deluxe Tinker carries a lifetime warranty.

About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

5.0 out of 5 stars Complet et compact Feb. 7 2012
Excellent couteau pratique avec le tournevis étoile intégré. Il est de taille parfaite pour un porte clé malgré le nombre élévé d'outils intégrés.
Très bon achat pour le prix : moins de 45$.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT FOR PREPPERS March 15 2014
By Joel R.
Just like everybody else, I have my preferences when it comes to pocket knives - and Swiss Army isn't it. There are two reasons why I have purchased 10 Swiss Army knives on Amazon.ca (and I plan on purchasing more). The first reason, is that buying it from Amazon.ca, especially at these reasonable prices, you know you are getting a genuine Swiss Army knife and not a knock-off which has already flooded the market.

The final reason why I have purchased many of these Swiss Army knives is solely for its reliable can opener tool. I've come to terms that I'm a prepper, and, I heard on CNN and read in survivalist books that many people who find themselves in disaster zones (such as Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Sandy) don't have can openers. In fact, when I watched CNN during Hurricane Sandy, CNN reporters were asking viewers to send can openers because no one was truly prepared.

My point is that I only seek low-priced genuine Swiss Army knives with can openers, after all, on the review sites/forums, no one said their Swiss Army can opener ever failed them - no one.

Happy prepping.
