Great product, but why not throw in the special wrench?

My old farmhouse had serious plumbing issues, hard water had attacked the copper. There were leaks in the walls and green stains in the tub and sinks. I decided to just replace all the old plumbing with synthetics and do away with the issue. Pulled pex from this central manifold to each fixture and this made the plumbing job just a breeze compared to the old way. Also the separate shutoff valves allowed me to commission the fixtures as I hooked them up, making it a lot easier to do the job in my spare time and live in the house at the same time.
This manifold is all plastic and a year on I have had no issues whatsoever with it. No more green water, hot water comes quickly everywhere, and no leaks. Added a dishwasher which was a 15 minute job of pulling the pex and turning on the valve. Much nicer than draining the whole house, cutting lines and soldering.

Docked one star because they don't throw in their stupid wrench to tighten the gland nuts. I found this out after receiving the manifold and just refused to buy the wrench and pay for shipping again. I'm a motor mechanic and have a huge wrench collection, even the Whitworth sizes, so why do I need a special one for this manifold? Why not space the fittings just a 1/4" further apart?
It's possible to use channel-lock pliers, but be prepared to do a lot of turns 1/8 of a turn at a time, and a lot of cursing. Buy the wrench!

I do not understand how the National Standard Plumbing Code has not mandated this for new construction. We have electrical service panels, why not water service panels. Same concept and with PEX being so easy to run and use it just makes sense. I am doing a whole home remodel. I framed it the basement mechanical area for S(its) A(nd) G(iggles), to make this look nice. (Really, if you are going to go that far, why not make it look nice.) The installation took about 4 hours from the meter to the faucets. (I used sweat fittings to connect to existing plumbing until I got to that room for remodeling. I just left enough loops to pull when I got to the finishing of the next room. PEX is cheap. Do it right.)

I'm doing a gradual plumbing switch-over and this is perfect because I can plumb each fixture as I have time.
my dad and I built a manifold box out of 2x4s and plywood in a couple hours and hung it on the wall in the garage. so when its all done It will be easily accessible but not an eye-sore.
Once I figured out the connections it is really easy to hook up the lines!
One downside is that it is all plastic so I feel like I'm going to break it... but I haven't, so that's good.

The product was what was expected. It would be nice for an additional fee to add the fittings needed to attach the water supply. These parts seem to be very specific to this product and was not able to buy to local. If you are buying this you must order 3 additional fittings so you can add the pex supply lines into it. Install directions do not come with is either, but was able to find online. It provided some extra detail on how it all worked.

The reason I gave this three stars is because the product came and now I have to purchase additional fittings to connect my water supply. Pexsupply.com is the only place I found that carries the parts. They also have packages, so I would have had everything I needed at once. We are renovating our bathroom (the only one in the house) and now I have to wait even longer to connect the water supply. I had this product in a previous home and it worked great. No complaints about the product, just about the online description. Product is also about $20 cheeper at pex supply.
