At the zenith of their career, Hamburg’s “romantic rockers” Novalis released this thoroughly successful album in 1978, considered their best recording by many. Certainly it was their most commercially successful offering. The tracks are diverse and polished and, unlike on previous releases, occasionally even radio-compatible with a playing time in the four minute range. Vocalist Fred Mühlböck, who had joined the band for the recordings of the previous album, “Brandung”, marked the tracks with his dynamic voice, while sophisticated instrumentals by keyboarder Lutz Rahn liven up the track listing.

Reissue of the Krautrock quintet's third album, originally released in 1978 on the Brain label. Contains all six of thecuts from when it was first released, including 'Der Geigenspieler' and 'Zingaresca'. 1998 Repertoire Records release.

Germans can make good solid progressive and Novalis are probably their best band. If you did not know it, here is a chance to experience a quite refined example of their music. I got almost all their albums and they are all worth the money. don't miss it.
