Product Description

This stylish and well-constructed electronic dartboard is a great choice for your downstairs rec room or upstairs den. The board boasts a total of 39 different games--enough for all but the most demanding darts player--with a jumbo 6.5-inch LCD display keeping track of up to 16 players at once. The regulation 15.5-inch target face, meanwhile, is outfitted with a tournament spider that presents a number of scoring options, including double ins/outs and a single/double bulls-eye option. And thanks to such features as a catch ring sensor, a missed dart detector, and a bounce-out button, you needn't worry about the board misinterpreting a throw. Other details include a cyber match challenge against the computer with five skill levels, an auto player change, a voice volume control with three level options, quick keys for 301 and Cricket, four sets of darts, and extra tips. The board--which even offers Minnesota and Spanish Cricket games--measures 20 by 25.5 by 1.62 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty.

As novice dart players, my wife and I decided to buy this board as a family gift for Christmas, in the hopes of engaging our sons (aged 11 and 16) in some fun family time. The board has proved to be an excellent purchase. On the advice of other reviews read, we also purchased 2 sets of soft-tip darts (Viper Bobcats in our case - but any decent quality darts will do) to go with the board, as the darts that accompany the board are admittedly low quality. Set-up was easy as the mounting screw holes on the board are spaced the width of standard residential studs. Mounting all four screws into our game room wall studs provided for a very sturdy installation. I would suggest purchasing a GLD soft-tip removal tool (around $8) with the board, as the tips do break off occasionally and the tool is a convenient way to deal with tips left in the board, but too short to remove with a set of pliers. Also should order a decent supply of replacement soft-tips (I'd recommend Tufflex tips as they seem to be very durable). The electronic set-up for game play is fairly easy and intuitive, however having the instruction manual handy to reference the game numbers/codes is a necessity until you remember the codes for your favourite games. Otherwise the computer commands (i.e for next player, and scoring) are clear and direct. A great way to learn new dart games and scoring. . . It'd be nice if would carry the soft-tip removal tool and a selection of replacement soft-tips (I had to go to to find some). . . However that does not take away from the quality of this purchase. Highly recommended - enjoy!!!

HASH(0xa643dad4) out of 5 stars Good Points and Bad, but Better Than Others Jan. 5 2009

I liked that this board is the regulation size as I am praticing to play better in leagues and tournaments. I also liked that the actual playing area is surrounded by a square background as it seems more like the dart boards in venues that I play. Plus stray darts from beginners have a better chance of hitting something other than the wall. The drawbacks are it makes a low whining sound when turned on, and it doesn't always count the darts thrown, so you have to tap the end of it. But I guess that is to be expected. Still better than other dart boards I have played on at people's homes. And the price was good.

I ordered some fixed flight darts from The commercial darts didn't fit right in my Sportcraft dart board. Dart Brokers suggested I get the Viper 787 regulation size board instead of an Arachnid that I wanted. The owner of Dart Brokers said he had nothing but problems with the Arachnid's. So I ordered the Viper 787. The darts didn't stick in the 787 either, but I used it with the tiny little darts that came with it. I called Dart Brokers about the darts still not sticking and the owner sent me dart tips that he said would work. These didn't work either! So I still continued using the small darts. The Viper 787 then went out 3 weeks after I got it. The scoreboard just displayed "error" so I guess the computer died. I had regretted my purchase of the Viper 787 because the display wasn't backlit and was really hard to read and the sound was VERY quiet. I emailed GLD products (the maker of Viper dart boards) and told them this whole story. They called me a couple days later and said they were going to send me another board but an upgraded model with back light! I didn't even have to mail the old one back or show pictures or anything. They mailed me the Viper Pisces board. It's awesome, regulation face, VERY loud (adjustable) sound and beautiful easy to read backlit LCD. I love this board. It would have gotten 5 stars but every 10th throw or so doesn't register and you just have to hit it when you go up there...but the commercial fixed flight darts I got from Dart Brokers stick perfectly!

Bought this for a friend for his birthday. The first thing I noticed was that the tape was broken on the box. When I took the board out of the box, most of the bubbles in the bubble wrap was popped. I plugged it in cycled through the game types and then proceeded to test the segments on a game of cricket. I didn't test every single segment, but everything seemed to work fine.

So all was good. WRONG!!! I looked at the back of the board when done and noticed that there was a sticker on the back edge where the front and back panels meet. It was a void warranty if broken sticker. It was cut.

To sum it up. Packaging wasn't up to basic standards. The warranty sticker was cut, so I am waiting for some type of failure. My friend and I will have to play some games on it to see if it holds up.

Over all, I'm not impressed yet. I'll let you know.
