Decent read for those new to leadership; especially leading virtual employees June 16 2013

I do like how the book can be used as a "handbook", allowing you to flip to the relevant pages of the book for your needs (as opposed to having to read it straight through). I was a little disappointed in the content because it was somewhat basic, and I had expected more from a book with its price tag. Quite honestly, when I opened the package I was surprised to see how thin the book is with larger font; and then led to further disappointment with the afforementioned lack of content. I then found a number of typos and incorrect grammar. I'm not usually that particular about my books, but had higher expectations based on the cost.
Even with my disappointment, I give it an "It's okay" because it does include good fundamentals that are always worth re-visiting.

Must have for virtual team members and leaders! Nov. 28 2010

I have been leading a virtual team for years at a global company and have read practically every virtual team book that has been released. All of the books I have read addressed the challenges faced by virtual teams, but only "Virtual Team Success" provided practical examples of how to address these challenges and how to avoid future issues. I applaud the authors for giving virtual teams a handbook of sorts to use as a guide going forward. My virtual team is far from perfect so I hope to incorporate some of the tips and guidelines to make our team more efficient and ultimately more successful.

Very valuable insights into remote/virtual team management. I highly recommended for executives, managers, consultants and team leads who are finding themselves working with remote personnel, either as employees, contractors, or in an outsourced model. For outsourcing, this is especially valuable for staff augmentation scenarios. Also a treasure trove of footnotes to worthwhile articles for followup.

It is very much a new managers book, and pretty theoretical; unfortunately light on practical techniques. This is one of the kindle books I wish I could return. Lots of words, however low actionable content. I can imagine this book being a great book in the mid to late 1990s.

Pretty disappointed.

I had to purchase this book for my Graduate program. This book is a great read for anyone who deals with virtual teams, whether they are national or international. The information is set up in a very user friendly manner and flows nicely. It kept my interest but the best part of the book is that you do not have to read it from page one and on. You can view the chapters in the beginning and choose which chapter fits your current situation. All of the chapters can sit alone which makes this a gem for those who deal with virtual teams. If you are having specific issues with your team, you can skip right to that area of the book and find the answers to your problems. I did not have to read this whole book for my classes but intend on finishing up the chapters not assigned; it is that interesting.
