This early medieval wise woman is presented, not as a flawless saint, but a very human person. In demystifying Hildegard of Bingen, director Margarethe von Trotta succeeds in making her accessible and profoundly moving. This is not a popcorn and coke movie, but one that will grip you and invite you to explore your reactions to a remarkable woman, whose wisdom continues to inspire.
