I didn't really like the movie, Vision Quest, but the soundtrack is really good. It's likely to appeal to two audiences: 1) Madonna fans, and 2) 80s rock fans. There's a nice balance between pop (Madonna, Style Council), pop-rock (Journey, John Waite, Foreigner), and hard-rock (Dio, Red Rider). Of course, everyone's probably heard Madonna's "Crazy for You," which was her first hit ballad (unless you include "Borderline"). It still sounds great, and is really quite beautiful and sweet. You may not, however, have heard her second song on the soundtrack - "Gambler." It's more of an up-beat pop song. Although it's clearly not one of her best efforts, I think that this soundtrack is the only place to get it. My other favorite song on the CD is Dio's "Hungry for Heaven." I'm not a Dio fan, but this song is more melodic and poppy than most of their stuff - it's really great. If you like other 80s soundtracks (e.g., Flashdance, Footloose), you'll probably really enjoy "Vision Quest."

I watched the movie and enjoyed the soundtrack very much. I own the movie. This CD is in the mail. I will let you know what I think when I receive it. The songs are from well known artists, such as Journey, John Waite, Madonna, The Style Council, Red Rider, Sammy Hagar, Dio, Foreigner and Don Henley.

Just remember kids... You should always keep "Crying for a Dream" ~ This is the best movie ever made for a dream seeker.

The shipper is far away from me (Swedan to Brampton), that's why it took a long time to receive the item. I chose the cheapest shipping method as well. Ordered on Feb 18, 2014 and received on March 12, 2014, which isn't a long time but I'm moving so I was concerned...

As I expected, a really great and up beat album. I love the 60's - 90's so if you're into Rock and Pop then this is your kind of music. The shipper was quick to answer my emails and informative. The order was sent promptly, I will use them again.

If you haven't seen the movie, this soundtrack won't sound too great to you. It will be just another CD from the 80s that we can store in the closer or attic. But for those that have seen the movie (especially wrestlers) this soundtrack is an excellent motivator. Great for running hills to cut that last few pounds before a match/tournament or to pump you up before a dual. This CD also has songs which are just plain good to listen to. It has everything a CD should have. Highly recommended.

At the time this CD was released (along with the movie) most of these artists were chuggin' along with their careers. No one can doubt that each song on this album stirs different emotions from the grasping, almost demonic Lunatic Fringe (Tom Cochrane's Red Rider) to the breakout John Waite pop melody Change to the sultry swaying Crazy for You by Madonna. This album is highly recommended as a true slice of the 80's pop/rock genre.

Well, back in high school I had the tape. I used to listen to it on the way to cross-country meets to get psyched up. There's just not a bad tune on this album. "Only The Young" is the greatest song Journey ever recorded. It was also the last one they recorded with the line-up from the Frontiers album. I also consider it the best song on this album. But all of them are worth a listen.
