4.0 out of 5 stars Visual Introduction to Bucks Point Lace, July 1 2002

This book has plenty of nice patterns but it is recommended for lacemakers who are familiar with the basic stitches. The colour code system makes it easy to understand, at a glance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!, Mar 19 2012

I love this book! I feel like I'm learning everything I need to know to follow old Bucks Point patterns. The book takes you from a very simple fan to gorgeous floral Bucks patterns. It is very easy to understand IF you have a basic knowledge of how to do bobbin lace. I took a class on Torchon before I started this book, so I had a good idea of what was going on at the beginning. When I came back to lace making years later, I read through Stott's The Bobbin Lace Manual to catch up. That might be a good book for a novice, but I can't say for certain because I didn't use it to learn bobbin lace.

The price for this book is OUTRAGEOUS, but I would never ever ever sell my copy. It is my favorite lace book because it lets me dream that some day, I, too, will be able to master this beautiful lace.
