decent but not amazing adventure April 2 2013
By Sue D'Neem - Published on Amazon.com
Like most modern adventure games, the puzzles were easy, however they were not hidden-object-game-easy, and I had to use the in-game hints couple times, so it was playable.
The art was very nice. The story ok too. The use of ghosts to solve problems made it less than intuitive at first.
The real downside is the dialogue. Ugh! Reads like a 12 year old wrote it. Some character says something ... silly ... and another character says some version of "shut up you moron". Well, don't write it in the first place, LOL! I'd give some examples but that would be spoilers.
The bonus chapter / extra quest, that you get once the credits are done, is really nice though. Better art, plot, etc. Wish the whole game could have been like that.

Great Game for adventures Feb. 13 2013

Great adventure game. Good graphics. I'm so glad when I find a game that is NOT one of those horrible hidden object games.

Surprisingly fun adventure May 31 2013

I love adventure games, almost as much as RPGs, and this one is much better than expected. I just started Ch 4, and am having a blast. The story and locations are great, the ghost sidekicks make me laugh quite frequently. Now the game's puzzles are fairly easy, but I'm not looking for a game that needs a walkthrough to play. All in all this game is a very fun adventure, and I hope I can find more like it. Pick it up, it's great!
Funny ghosts, funny villains but not terribly difficult puzzles March 16 2015

I give this game a solid three out of five stars. The graphics are very good and the voice acting is better than most for games of this type. The story is also intriguing -- Mary is a young woman living in London in the 1800s who is haunted in her dreams by her sister who is missing and presumed dead. The sister asks Mary for help and in the beginning of the game, Mary is running away from some vicious sounding animals when she either faints or is knocked unconscious on the grounds of some estate. Mary comes to when Professor Ashcroft, a cross between Mrs. Danvers and Victor Frankenstein, attempts to cut open Mary's cadaver. It seems Ashcroft and her henchman collect cadavers in order to perform experiments. Professor Ashcroft feigns concern for Mary but while leaving Mary alone temporarily, Mary discovers a locket belonging to her sister. Suspecting that something connects the sister to these fiends, Mary manages to escape the professor's laboratory with the aid of a pirate ghost. And so her adventures begin as she tries to discover what exactly happened to her sister.

The drawings are very good and the dialogue can be very funny at times. The puzzles are interactive and so far (I'm at Chapter 3) not terribly difficult to solve. The ghosts (you collect ghostly friends on the way) are able to help you, each in his own special way. I especially enjoyed the scenes with the Professor and her henchman. She is delightfully dry and witty while he appears to be scatterbrained at times. The lack of any real difficulty in solving the puzzles keeps this game from getting a solid 4 stars or even 5 stars. When the player appears to be stuck, remember to move your cursor to direct Mary's movements to the sides of the screen because this often opens up additional areas that Mary can walk into or climb up to move your game forward. Funny at times, never scary (so far) but not terribly difficult.

Surprised that I like this game! Feb. 17 2013

I normally do not like games where you use the arrow keys or the mouse to move the main character around the screen and you interact with the other characters where you have to select the questions at the bottom of the screen. I usually fine this type of game play absolutly trying on my nerves. However, I actually liked this one. Good storyline and supporting sidekick player is cute. I think you will enjoy this one.
