Inspired by the film, the video game tells the story of Conrad, a young boy who has been tricked by his neighbor, Mr. Quinn, into opening the cat’s big red box of Seussian magic and allowing it to escape into the real world. The cat must help Conrad and his sister, Sally, return the Seussian magic to the box and retrieve all three pieces of the "Crab Lock" in order to lock the box for good. Players will also get the unique chance to explore a world beyond the film, as they navigate through rooms of the house that are not seen in the movie.

I was a little worried about buying this for my 4yr old because of all the computer problems people have reported here, but it works just fine. My son loves everything Cat in the Hat, so he adores this game. Overall, a pleasant game. (The background music gets a little annoying, so that's why I gave it 4 stars.)
I installed this game on both of my computers. Both of them are new and far exceed the minimum requirements to run the game. The game will not run on either machine. I can install the program but the game will not start at all. Very disappointing for my 5 year old who was so excited and has been waiting forever to play this game. I sealed the box back up and returned it to WalMart, even though I didn't buy it there. I got store credit which was fine with me.

The game Cat in the Hat has been a very challenging game for my 4 year old son. He has made it to level 6 and now he is stuck. I wish they gave you some game pointers for all the different aspects of the games. The area we are stuck on the the broiler room. (trying to get the crablock) My son loves this game and has had a great time playing it. We have experienced no crashes on our computer.

No troubles at all...
The low ratings listed here, before myself ,are mostly based on the installation issues. However, i had not trouble one installing this. It ran beautifully and never crashed. Read more

Zero stars
Don't buy this game! It totally crashes my pc (Compaq wi WinXP)and from the other posts it appears I am not alone. This is a relatively new PC with pleny of memory and processor. Read more

Major Disappointment
Spent 30 minutes on the phone with tech support and still could not get game to work. Installing game would shut the whole computer down. Read more
