5.0 out of 5 stars Waking Walt Jun 15 2004
Format:Paperback
"Do you believe in the rebirth of Legends? It'll be hard not to after reading "Waking Walt." Author, Larry Pontius has brilliantly taken on one of America's most enduring, famous urban Legends and masterfully ignited the imaginative What If? feel to this fast paced thriller.

What If, Walt Disney was never cremated as the official story goes? What If, The great creative genius Walt has been in cryonic suspension, waiting for a cure for lung cancer, so he can be cured and return to his empire. What If, This truly great American Icon, purveyor of dreams, a man who proved that "If you can dream something you can do it," did come back today... especially during this time of crisis in the leadership of his company.

This is exactly what Author Larry Pontius weaves to life-and then some! His cleverness and wit captivates you in this engaging thriller. This is one of the most imaginative and thought provoking books that I've read in a long time.

It'll make you wonder, knowing Larry Pontius was once a Marketing Executive for Disneyland and Walt Disney, if this isn't a legend after all. What If, Larry knows something we don't...

You'll love "Waking Walt." I strongly recommend you buy this book, sit back and prepare to be entertained!"

Best Regards,

Soliza

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Genius Jun 8 2004
Format:Paperback
Disney's most famous urban legend comes to life in the novel, "Waking Walt". The book takes the "what if" approach about Walt Disney's death and puts and exciting spin on it. What would Walt think about the state of the Disney Company? What would other companies do if Walt suddenly appeared on the radar today? What is most interesting is that with all of the 2004 events, it makes this book seem more fact than fiction. All I can say is, "Where is Walt when we need him?" This novel is a MUST for any casual or avid Disney fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Walt Disney Fan's Dream Come True Jun 7 2004
Format:Paperback
Walt Disney represents all that is good in the world. He made fairy tales come true to so many of us, if only for a few hours on the screen or by making believe at Disneyland. Wouldn't we all love to have him come back today, especially during this time of crisis in leadership for his company?

Not long after Walt died in 1966, the rumor arose that he did not actually die-but rather that the forward-thinking genius had himself cryogenically frozen, to be brought back to life when a cure for his lung cancer had been found. Legends like that are not new-we all long for that hero who will come back and rescue us from the evil clutches of the villain du jour.

But what if this legend just happened to be true? Larry Pontius, former Vice President of Marketing for The Walt Disney Company, dared to ask himself that question. And then he dared to write a book to answer it. Waking Walt is suspenseful, fun and heart-warming. For everyone who secretly wishes Walt really were frozen and that we really could bring him back to save the day, Waking Walt is our wish fulfillment.

If you love Walt, you'll love Waking Walt. Order it, read it. You'll be glad you did.
