Author's tactics,

I have read this entire series including the on-line short stories and the written word in smaller collections such a " My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon". Waking the Witch is disappointing.The author appears to be using tactics to string the reader along, but in the end, we are left unfulfilled and dreading another sequel. The character of Savannah has aged considerably from her last novel inclusion, but her adventure is not appealing. If the author intended a cliffhanger, it was ill gotten. The novel seemed to drag in places and the writing seemed rushed. Perhaps, we the readers, were expecting a novel too soon, but Kelly did not seem to produce an appealing characterization. Perhaps in her sequel, there will be a more definite cohesion to the characters and a resolution to Savannah's unrequited love. Bring back the werewolves, or at least, include them to a larger degree with the other characters.

Great addition to the series!,

I got an early copy of this book through a contest and finished it in one day. I love this series and "Waking the Witch" did not disappoint. This book has a slightly different feel to it than Kelly's earlier books because Savannah is younger than the earlier narrators. The love story subplot is not as developed because this book is more about Savannah finding herself than love. As always, the book provides small updates on the other characters in the "Otherworld" and leaves you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book!

Waking the witch was great. I love the way Kelley Armstrong has a way of pulling me into her stories. It's like visiting old friends. Savannah has grown over the series to a bright young PI assistant to Paige and Lucas, Oh and I can't forget Adam. This book doesn't have the steamy romance that I am used to in the Otherworld books, but the undertones of a good romance are there and I'm sure are going to be great in Spell Bound. This story does unfold nicely to find how who committed the murders, but it also leaves on a part of the investigation unsolved and it gets tricky for Savannah. I can't wait to read Spellbound in July and I hope since she has found herself in this book, she can find the steamy love in the next one! *fingers crossed*
