About the Author
Mary Macaree, who died just before the publication of this edition, was a longtime member of the British Columbia Mountaineering Club. This book came together with the help, encouragement, and dedicated enthusiasm of friends and family who knew how important its completion was to
Mary. With her late husband,
David, she originated four editions of both this volume and 103 Hikes in Southwestern British Columbia, which has sold almost 160,000 copies.
Mary and
David were avid outdoor adventurers and spirited people. Their legacy continues with this publication.
