5.0 out of 5 stars It will blow you away, Jan 10 2006
This review is from: Warm Belly High Power (Audio CD)
If you like esthero, ministy of sound or any type of similar genre of music - then you are in for a real treat!

When I bought LAL I knew I had to be getting into a very, very cool band. It’s gotten to the point of addiction, really, because their music is that potent. It’s so beautiful and so powerful that it does things I can’t articulate to my body and mind and soul every time I listen to it. It twists up my insides and takes me on a spiritual journey.

LAL’s singer was born in Bangladesh and brought up in Markham (Toronto, Canada) Her lyrics are distilled and her voice is haunting. Her partner is a studio master, providing a trippy, broken-beat feel to the music. Together with their band mates, LAL exists at the intersection of hip-hop, soul, dub, South Asian classical and so many other genres. It is inherently mystical and political. And it will totally captivate you.
