The NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR launches the new Time Hunters series.

In the 24th century, anyone can leap through time at will. To police the time jumpers, the Temporal Enforcement Agency has established a precinct in time. Galar Arvid is a genetically altered warlord and agent who's been sent back to 2008 to save a pretty Atlanta artist from a Xeran time traveler who intends to kill her for profit. What Galar doesn't count on is the powerful desire Jessica Kelly ignites in him. But could a romance between them work? A three-hundred-year chasm separates them and, even if they dart through time, there's still a maniacal killer on their tails.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent Knight novel!, July 26 2008

This review is from: Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
Usually I have a really hard time with sci-fi novels, especially those that are focused in the future. I find some authors go overboard and it doesn't feel real. Knight is exactly the opposite. The way the writes, everything feels comfortable, like you're there, in the future and everything feels like it's the way it ought to be. I really enjoy authors who can do that.

Jessica is an unrecognized artist who truly enjoys her work. Living with her roommate, Charlotte, she is trying to break out in the art world and isn't having much luck. A strong woman, she uses her brain and fights for her life.

We learn that, in the future, she's supposed to have been possibly murdered, although her body was never found. Galar is sent back to find out what happened, if it's possible that a future collector of her work wants her dead so that her art is more valuable/worth more. The rules are that he is not allowed to change the past, that he isn't only there to see what happened. However, looks and beliefs are deceiving, and the story holds a lot more than the obvious.

A Xeran battleborg is sent back in time to deal with the roommate - she is the object of his mission. But before he can complete his mission, Charlotte does something to Jess and hightails it out of there, leaving Jess to deal with what's to come. A fight on her hands, her life in jeopardy, she is brought into the future. At first, she has a hard time, but quickly learns that it's not bad.

She and Galar have formed a strong bond almost right from the first. It's great to see that bond go beyond the norm. While you do get some answers, others are not, and I found this strange. Obviously, the answers will come in future novels, but I hate it when a story is left unfinished. Even the characters are left wondering the what and why of it all, not to mention the who.

Truly a great novel, except for that. One star missing, but I won't miss the rest of the series because of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, July 4 2008
By Deborah Wiley - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
Galar Arvid has a mission: to determine if the death of artist Jessica Kelly is the result of a time jumper. If and only if her murderer is a temporal crime can he intervene....

Jessica's world is about to be turned completely upside down. Until now, she has lived quietly with her roommate while painting and hoping for that big break. Everything is about to change as she will encounter a world completely foreign to her own, one in which time travel is an everyday occurrence and aliens and genetic alteration have created a group of fighters. What will happen when she loses her heart to someone so very different from herself?

I loved JANE'S WARLORD when it first released and have hoped ever since that Angela Knight would return to that world. What a thrill it is to see WARRIOR, a book featuring the time jumping Warlords and the villains they fight against! Fans of JANE'S WARLORD will appreciate that Freika appears in WARRIOR as Freika is a phenomenal sidekick. His feisty wisecracks make him memorable and I hope to see him in future books as well.

WARRIOR is an excellent entry into the series, and one that easily stands alone. The science fiction aspects are brilliantly done as Ms. Knight makes time travel seem very believable. The twists and turns of WARRIOR are fabulously done as there are some real surprises in store for the reader. I can't wait to see where Angela Knight takes us next with this series!

The world of WARRIOR can be a brutal one. Angela Knight provides the perfect balance in Galar, a man genetically engineered to fight and yet one who can also fall in love with a woman such as Jessica. The love scene near the end epitomizes just how well both sides of Galar come together when his heart is involved. Bravo, Ms. Knight! You've got another hit on your hands with WARRIOR!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner!, July 4 2008
By Terpsicore Olympous "Terpsicore" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
First - this is my own opinion - I hope that you will choose to read the book yourself to make your own thoughts...

Secondly, I enjoyed this book immensely. I love Angela's books - from her old ebooks (which is how I found her) to the current themes.

Warrior was an excellent book - it brought back fond memories of my reading of Jane's Warrior and re-emphasized my memories of Freika - which was funny back then, but he is just as funny now.

The story is developed thoroughly, and has humor as well as sadness within.

I read it in one sitting - that's a score with me - if I can put it down and do other things, then it's only worth 3 stars - this one is definately a keeper.

Thank you Angela for doing what you do best! Now, where are my other Angela books so that I can go back and re-read them!

Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Return to the world of Jane's Warlord, July 6 2008
By Elaine C McTyer "avid reader" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
This novel is set in the universe Knight first brought us in JANE'S WARLORD. I liked that book and I like this one. It was fresh and full of action and romance.

Jessica Kelly is an artist. She and her roommate live in Atlanta in 2008. Jessica has to work to support herself and her art. She is one of the nameless people who struggle to put their vision on canvas, but up until now she has had no luck breaking into the art community.

Galar Arvid is a Warlord for the Temporal Enforcement Agency. He has come to see if maybe Jessica's murder was by a person from the future. If so he will try to save her life and take her to the future to live. Galar is not looking to find any kind of personel interest in Jessica. Since he had been betrayed by a former lover who was a spy, he had guarded his heart and feelings from others. He has a reputation for being cold and efficient.

The murderer turns out to be a Xeran battleborg, and he is after her roommate who has passed some type of DNA to Jessica. Therefore he will kill both of them. After a vicious fight he flees leaving both Jessica and her saviors wounded. The story and romance are intense and Jessica has secrets even she doesn't know about. But the Xerans are determined to kill her and they have a mole in the agency.

I enjoyed the book and there will be more in this series. I look forward to them. Knight has a way with futuristic fantasy and intense romance.
