Product Description

From International Thriller Writers comes Watchlist: two powerful novellas featuring the same thrill cast of characters in one major suspenseful package. The Chopin Manuscript and then The Copper Bracelet were a collaboration by some of the world’s greatest thriller writers, including Lee Child, Joseph Finder, Lisa Scottoline, and Jeffery Deaver, who conceived the characters and set the plot in motion. The other authors each wrote a chapter and Deaver then completed what he started, bringing both novellas to their startling conclusions.

In the first novella, The Chopin Manuscript, former war crimes investigator Harold Middleton possesses a previously unknown score by Frederic Chopin. But he is unaware that, locked within its handwritten notes, lies a secret that now threatens the lives of thousands of Americans. As he races from Poland to America to uncover the mystery of the manuscript, Middleton will be accused of murder, pursued by federal agents, and targeted by assassins. But the greatest threat will come from a shadowy figure from his past: the man known only as Faust.

Harold Middleton returns in The Copper Bracelet–the explosive sequel to The Chopin Manuscript–as he’s drawn into an international terror plot that threatens to send India and Pakistan into full-scale nuclear war. Careening from Nice to London and Moscow to Kashmir to prevent nuclear disaster, Middleton is unaware that his prey has changed and the act of terror is far more diabolical than he knows. Will he discover the identity of the Scorpion in time to halt an event that will pit the United States, China, and Russia against each other at the brink of World War III?

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Concept Needs Work May 30 2011
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I was intrigued by the potential of having a different writer for each chapter. I was certain that Jeffery Deaver was the one to pull it all together. The result didn't better its parts. The book was uneven- plot and character development were all over the map. I hoped for more. Sorry, I won't be reading this one twice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Skip this book Jan 5 2011
By Kathryn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I was unimpressed with this effort. Although the authors clearly had fun writing it, it was not much fun reading. Characters were undeveloped, relationships were unexplained and story details were inconsistent. Worst of all, it lacked wit. Unfortunate, because the plot concept surrounding the Chopin manuscript had potential.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Reminder Of Why I Stopped Reading Thrillers Dec 11 2010
By Elly Sparks - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I stopped reading mysteries and thrillers a few years ago because they weren't as good as this. Lately though, I've been stumbling on more and more books like Watchlist. Fast paced, catch your breath moments, can't put it down.
I downloaded this when it was free and feel like I've won the lottery.
I highly recommend to anyone.
If it can make a chick-lit lover happy, I suppose this book could make just about anyone happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling and exhausting Dec 31 2010
By Meri Lee - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I read this book of novellas on my Kindle - wow! The plots twist and turn as each author gives a different spin to the story. The main characters carry thru, but some of the supporting characters might be developed by one author, only to be killed off or ignored by another - or, that character might develop a larger role in the story. (Unlike Star Trek, you never knew who was the red shirt). Just as you would think something was truth, the next author might spin it another way - black, white or grey? You'd think something was finished, and it would pop up again - exhausting - I couldn't put it down!
