A must read book for the waterclour painter. It is well illustrated, encouraging you to try creative ideas. The best book on watercolour to come into my hands that generates enthusiasm to paint and try something new.

I highly recommend this book. Techniques would be excellent with watercolor or mixed media. I have shown it to other artist friends and they have been impressed with the book as well. I am looking forward to using some of the techniques in my work.

This book is loaded with inspirational pictures and step by step demos... it's set up a lot like a cook book, pick the dish(painting) you like and see how to cook it (paint it). The companion set of 4 DVD's enhance the enjoyment of this book. I own hundreds of art books, this one is unique. I'd highly recommend it.

I have all Karlyn Holman's books and this one didn't disappoint. I find her creativity contagious and I am finding her excitement brings out the creativity in me. I recommend any of her books or cd's highly.

This book proves that watercolour should be and can be fun. Find ways to experiment and enjoy the freedom of watercolour. Karlyn often uses mixed media and her approach is experimental. This is a beautifully laid out and presented book with good reproduction of the watercolours. It packs a lot into the pages. I love Karlyn's guidelines, she teaches you how to but not in a stiff step by step way, she teaches you to use your own imagination and creativity and to let the paint flow through your very being onto the paper. There is so much information in here - landscape, still life, floral and mixed media. This is a must-have for any artist trying to develop their own style. Brilliant.
