I followed the directions in this book for painting fruits and vegetables, and I was very successful for my ability level. The color mixing instructions are very good. This book is very encouraging to me, and I'm sure it will be for others.

Excellent Botanical Vegetables, Jun 12 2010
By Carol A. Gangemi "CG" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Watercolour Fruit & Vegetable Portraits (Hardcover)
As a teacher of Botanical art I look for books that demonstrate step-by-step samples of how to paint plants.
This book is an excellent example of the above. Starting with a tea wash and gradually building the color until the painting is finished.
It is easy for a beginner to understand and follow.

painting veggies, Aug 9 2010

This book has beautiful illustrations of vegetables and fruit to do in watercolor. However, it is not for a beginner. The step by step instructions are very helpful . The author also gives you his color mixes. As a painter for over 8 years , I am still practicing the leaf instructions, to perfect them any where near the authors.
There are few books on vegetables and fruit in watercolor , this is a good edition to add to your library.
