Review

"The Ready To Paint series really couldn't be better suited to the subject of trees."  —Artbookreview.net

"Another in Search Press' innovative new Ready To Paint series, which give novice painters a kick start at handling watercolors without having to get past that tricky drawing stage."  —myshelf.com

Product Description

Amateur and beginning artists who are interested in painting trees and woodlands but cannot rely on their drawing skills will appreciate the demonstration projects in this book. With six reusable pull-out tracing papers, clear instructions, and step-by-step photographs, it is a great assistant for both students and enthusiasts wishing to capture the beauty of trees in striking watercolor paintings. The demonstration scenes include a bluebell wood, a winter landscape, an autumn woodland, a pair of ancient oaks, and a willow leaning over a boat.

I have ordered many watercolor books from Amazon, but this one is near the top! The instructions are precise, helpful and thorough. The color is good and the many photos make it simple to follow. I will look for more publications from this author!

Loved the artists looser style which incorporates just enough details, too. Easy to follow lessons for beginners or those intermediates(like me) who just have not picked up a brush in a very long time! I needed something to become re-acquainted with the medium. Book comes with ready to use drawings to jump start you, so you get to the fun part (the actual watercolor painting) faster, too. Very glad I purchased this book.

This book has solved my problem of painting the far-distance in landscape paintings. I have also memorized the suggested colors used in several type trees. No more brown or gray trees for me.
