I despise flossing because I have a wire mounted to the inside of my teeth to keep them in place. It's also hard to get at the ones at the very back of the mouth because I've got big giant horse choppers back there that seem to provide no functional purpose other than to occasionally bite the inside of my cheek. As a result, my flossing was infrequent and I developed some pretty deep pockets in the back.

So I got this nifty device because while the pockets weren't entirely alarming, they were going to get worse left unchecked, and I was told that water flossers actually work. Pshaw, said I, but I figured I'd try it out for a while before I openly begin mocking them. So after a month of using it every day before bed, I got checked again and showed significant improvement. Well, ain't that a sheep?

Anyways, whole story is there to tell you that it is actually quite effective, even moreso, I feel, than regular flossing because after one session with the waterpik, your teeth feel like you just had 'em polished. This particular model comes with several tips (too fancy, but whatever) and an adjustable pressure knob. Trust me, you do not want to turn this thing full blast unless you want to shoot your friend/spouse/pets in the face.

All you do is fill up the little tank and blast away at your gumline. The water pulses out at regular intervals (like those old water sprinklers that went tik-tik-tik-tik-brrrrrrrrt-tik-tik-tik-tik-brrrrrrrrrt) and essentially demolishes whatever awful nastiness you've got caked under the gumline and between the teeth into oblivion (or wherever things go when they go down the drain). The "splash damage" of the pulse means that the rest of your teeth get a good cleaning as well and your mouth feels quite spiffy after that.

I have owned various models of waterpiks for many years and have treasured each of them as very necessary for good dental hygiene. This model is more compact than earlier models, yet performs equally as well. My one concern is that it is styled for right hand use and I am left handed. The flexible tube could be a little longer.

I would recommend it highly.

This is a very good device to enhance oral care. The adjustment of the water flow is variable so that my wife and I can both use it. There are about 5 heads that come with this and they all for the most part work as advertised. Note to other users 3 drops of Teatree oil in the bowl will make your gums as healthy as they can and you will feel it. The only caveat I have for this machine is that the water cannister is a little small.

This and many other products are outrageously priced on amazon.ca. This product is $46 in the US and $109 here. Does the Canadian version send someone to your house to floss your teeth for you?

I don't mind paying a small premium to buy in Canada but this goes far beyond premiums and into the realm of gouging. Needless to say I will find the product elsewhere as I've had to do many times in the past.

Fully agree with the above comment. This product in much overpriced (more than double) in amazon canada comparing to other sites in US. Whats behind this funny pricing policy? Its really unfair - is it happenning in North America or some barbarian place?
By the way, all products on Amazon.ca are overpriced comparing to amazon usa. - at least double.

Are you kidding me on the price??? I will drive to the store and buy it for 1/2 that price plus use the coupon on the manufacturer's website. We do our homework on price, maybe Amazon should too.

I had a tough time shelling out the money for this product because the alternative (dental floss) is so cheap. For me, I have had some orthodontic work and a gum surgery as a result, so it is really important that I keep my gums in good shape. This flosser blasts stuck food junk out of where it is lodged and does a good job. I don't find it particularly loud, but I mean I'm in the bathroom not in front of the TV while doing this. Would have been 5 stars if it had been a bit cheaper (tried to use manufacturers coupon but Amazon would not accept, in case you wanted to try that too) but it's a solid product and I haven't had any issues in ~1 month of use.
Also, I can get 2 uses out of that water tank (easy to fill up and you need to keep it by the sink anyway). Handle is sturdy enough. I don't bother rotating the "aimer", I can just turn my hand to aim the stream between my teeth. Start on a low (the lowest) setting and work up. I find on my front teeth I need the setting a bit lower, but I can blast away on my back teeth.

Fantastic, not noisy or heavy pulsing like my old one, this one has smoother water flow and a more convenient shut off and start button plus I like having a lid on the reservoir.
This W100 unit is like a Cadillac compared to a old Chevy with my 10 year old Waterpik which still works but I lost the tips in a move and it was just time for a newer machine. I made a great decision, this unit is heaven to use. A person cannot go wrong with this model and it is cheaper on Amazon.ca than the Waterpic site and Ebay listings
Way to go Amazon!
