Product Description

Review

"Nic Sheff captures the insidious, almost vampiric mind-set of an addict who shrinks from any form of light. This book has more in common with Kafka than any recovery memoir I've read."―Mary Karr, New York Times bestselling author of Lit and The Liars' Club

"Sheff's journey, like his writing, is raw and compelling, heartbreaking and witty. An honest and gracious reflection about the challenges of recovery."―Rachel Sontag, author of House Rules: A Memoir

About the Author

I had never really considered in quite this way the notion that a person struggling with addiction may have an un-diagnosed, untreated mental health issue. The author is very forthcoming and candid. This is really important reading for people dealing with addiction and for their families.

Great read. Helped me as a parent to understand addiction/relapse issues. Would recommend this book to parents, adolescent's and anyone wanting a better understanding of addiction as an illness.

This story is very inspiring and so honest. I've had a family member it a similar situation and it really painted a picture of how he might have felt. A tough but really great read.
