4.0 out of 5 stars The Wedding arbor Love Inspired # 84, April 14 2004
By
This review is from: The Wedding Arbor (Mass Market Paperback)
In the Ozarks Sara Stone tooks refuge, but she got caught in a storm, ex-cop Adam Callaan offered her a palce to stay in his cabin. Sara decides to help Adam find joy again, but he helps her almost as much or more.
Ms Hansen is kind of heavy on the churchienity, but it was a good read.

This is the first of five Love Inspired books by Valerie Hansen,
so far. They're all set in rural Arkansas and this author has
a real feel for the humor inherent in country living, not to
mention romance between Christian men and women. I love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic Arkansas Views, Jan 2 2012
By M. Palmer "Michelle P." - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Wedding Arbor (Mass Market Paperback)
Living in Northern Arkansas my whole life, I've never known a place quite like this, but maybe such places do exist. The author really made Arkansas out to be a backwoods, hick kinda place but it's really not like that...

The dialogue between the couple is quite humorous at times. I loved their banter and the fact that the author didn't overdo it. I think a little bit of banter goes a long way. I found myself laughing out loud in several places - especially when it came to the mud and him getting hit in the head with the piece of wood. That was classic humor!

And like I said above, the picture of the Ozarks and Arkansas was just a bit hard for me to swallow. Like I said, I've lived in Arkansas almost my whole life (lived in KC and Austin for awhile as well), and I've never seen anything quite like this. I've yet to see a mom and pop quite like the one descirbed. We have shopping centers, restaurants, and normal towns just like everywhere else. I also haven't ever seen rains quite like what was described here. We've had our spring rains that last a few days, but I've never seen it rain more than not for about a month. This must take place in Newton County or something...perhaps...or further East...And though I do use some Arkansas lingo (Ya all, goona and fixin'), I don't talk anything like was deplicted the way Arkansas people talk...

This was a good story though. I enjoyed reading the simplicity and innocence of the story and imagined having a simple life like this. I'm glad to see everything turned out okay for everyone.
