"Reader from Florida" wrote that she prepared the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle cake for a recent dinner party. Well, I was one of those fortunate enough to have been there and I must say, that was easily the best cake I have in a long, long time! If the rest of the cakes in this book are as tasty as Chocolate Raspberry Truffle cake, this book is a true winner.

The book has really good recipes and some delightful, non-traditional cakes (i.e. not Wilton-style). The only problem I had was that the author likes to paint the pillars and separators. She doesn't mention that the paint should be non-toxic or not come into contact with the cake.

Though this book has no creative cake design whatsoever, it has a great deal of non-traditional cake recipes that can come in handy. If you are looking for beautiful cake designs, this book is not recommanded, but having many books in cake decorating already, a recipe book like this does prove to be quite useful.
