I have spent the last decade passionatly researching many issues regarding health, nutrition, and well-being. The 4 Week Body Detox Plan by Michelle Schaffro Cook is an excellent resource as it provides information about many different types of health issues in one powerful book. The book tells you where many toxins come from, how to replace those items with less toxic ones, and how to rid your body of toxins already within. She provides many very simple strategies, such as drinking hot lemon water every morning and using a body brush before showering, to assist in detoxifying on a daily basis. Michelle also goes into great depth about herbs and explains clearly the power that each one has to assist your body in its attempt to detoxify. In addition to that the book goes on to explain many different types of healing therapies that can also be of assistance and gives you practical tips on applying them at home. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

I am the author of The 4-Week Ultimate Body Detox Plan and am responding to the reviewer from New Brunswich. Actually, Chapter 5 organizes your detox week-by-week, outlining exactly what you'll need to target each of your body's organ systems during that time. I do not provide a mealplan because I don't advocate one mealplan for every person. This detox is about individuality. You can customize the plan to suit your exact needs, which are very different from anyone else's. Later in the book, I provide specific nutrients and herbs for anyone who wants to take the detox further and really do a deep cleaning. Once again, I don't recommend only one herb for every person, since we are all unique. By reading the descriptions of the benefits of each herb, people will find one or two usually sound best, based on their health history and needs. This book is not designed to be a one-size-fits-all approach to detox, like other detoxes. It is designed to maximize health results and help people heal and has helped countless people do exactly that--even from many serious illnesses.

After reading this book and following the simple, organized advice written by Michelle Schoffro Cook, I feel great. I lost nine pounds in the first week and a half, my energy increased dramatically, and my allergies disappeared. Michelle's story is inspiring and the sheer quantity of useable information she offers is great. I found the program just made sense because the author provides valuable supporting material. Now the program has become my habit, my lifestyle. When you read about how the body actually functions, it becomes clear why one-day detox or one organ detox (like the liver) doesn't work well. I picked up Schoffro Cook's other book on Healing Injuries (the Natural Way) too. Highly recommend it as well.
