HASH(0xa5f6739c) out of 5 stars Detailed, but doable! July 2 2011

Wow! What a value for this E-book! It's jam-packed with information to complete not one, but four June weekend projects (or December in the southern hemisphere).

The step-by-step directions with all you need to know to set up an inexpensive red worm composting bin alone are worth the price of the whole issue!

The author includes many helpful photos, drawings, and diagrams which illustrate each step along the way - detailed, but simple enough to be doable.

I especially loved the "Survey Your Site" project. While I already do lay out my vegetable garden using graph paper, I hadn't previously thought about some of the broader homestead "mapping" concepts that Anna suggested.

I can't wait to read next month's issue!

HASH(0xa64d436c) out of 5 stars good down to "earth" advice May 19 2012

This is the third volume of the magazine that I have read and I love each one. I currently live in a small city in the Philippines and have a small piece of property not far outside the city. When I lived in Germany I often saw people enjoying their Kleingarten when I would walk in the countryside, these were small plots of land often around 200 or 300 square meters in size that people would use for gardening normally erecting small places to stay for a weekend of gardening. I recently decided to do something similar to my property. These guides have given me many good suggestions, in this volume the site map was especially helpful as I was starting one.

HASH(0xa5f782f4) out of 5 stars Learning from someone with experience May 26 2011

Another great addition to the Weekend Homesteader.

I wish I had this series when I first got started a couple years ago.
I've read about some of the items in this months volume in the past, but the author lays them out in a short yet thorough and comprehensible manner that encourages you to do them now and not be overwhelmed.
I will definately go back and try some things I've read about that seemed overwhelming in the past thanks to this series. And I enjoyed learning about other aspects of homesteading, such as nutrition, that I have overlooked.

I really enjoy the personal experience that is shared in each volume so you don't have to repeat the mistakes the author has made in the past thus hopefully saving you a lot of time and energy.

The resource page is also a nice way to connect and share experiences and ask questions to the author and other like-minded individuals.

Loved the projects in the June issue - they made me think, analyze and prioritize in a way I probably wouldn't do on my own. I'm really enjoying the format of Weekend Homesteader. A little education plus some hands-on effort and I've learned to use my time and resources efficiently and productively.

I have learned at least one new thing to do with homesteading in each of these chapters. I would recommend any of these books. I am just getting started with homesteading, and these made me see that a little can be done at a time to make a difference.
