Dissapointing,

I was really excited when I got this book. It had many projects that I really wanted to make. The first project I made was the tote bag. First of all, the amount of fabric needed was completely wrong. I had to go back to the fabric store twice and get triple the amount of fabric listed. I found the instructions and pictures not easy to understand in parts. I basically needed to make up how to do the bindings and the handles of the bag.Based on the project I did, I do not trust this book and will not waste my time making another project. So disappointing!

Inspiring as a Coffee Table Book, but to USE - check for errata,

I love the look of this book, it's fabulous to read through and many of the patterns are very beautiful and make you WANT to sew. But, please, PLEASE check for the online errata previous to buying fabric for the projects. Some of the patterns have errors in the amount of yardage required and in the pattern itself.That said, I have had great results with a few of the projects. I just had to take extra steps before diving in.

The errors in the book are really not a big deal and overall this is a great book. More than any other book and even more than most individual patterns I really want to make the projects. I don't usually like sewing clothes for myself because I am so often not happy with the finished project but I just finished the summer blouse and I love it, just went out to buy fabric to make another. Google her summer blouse and you'll find loads of people that have made it and love it. I also love the big everything tote. And I gave the makeup bag as a gift and people love it, it looks sooo professional done but was really simple to make. I have lots more plans to make stuff from this book. The patterns are also the perfect type to tweak and really make your own especially that summer blouse.
