This is just a fabulous exercise video. The activities within the workouts are varied and many of the exercises and stretches are yoga-inspired, which I love. I have to admit, it is my first exercise video, so I can't compare it to others - but what worried me about the idea of exercise videos (annoying voices, irritating music, workouts that didn't really work out what I needed or wanted to work out) is simply not an issue with Violet's video.
I think Violet has a wonderful way of presenting that is very supportive and encouraging, sometimes a little cheeky, but never irritating. Her accent is lovely and the women that she presents with, Chanel and Daisy, are refreshingly diverse - different body shapes and sizes and levels. These two presenters model low-aerobic and less challenging options (Chanel) and taking it up a level (Daisy).
The music is understated, but keeps the pace alive and the activities are thoughtful and well planned. It focuses a lot on working on the entire body, as well as working out two muscle groups simultaneously... which is challenging and also fits a lot in within a 20 minute workout.
The exercise video features 2 workouts, as well as a warm up and cool down. I find these varied and great for alternating during the week. The best thing about the workout is that it feels relatively easy, so I'm always thinking, I can do this... but by the end, I am sweating and groaning because it is so challenging! Violet definitely seems to have had experience teaching, as she knows when the exercise is just getting that bit too tough and intuitively offers words of encouragement.
The length of the workouts is perfect - 20 minutes + warm up and cool down (another 18 or so minutes). There is also a bonus "Ab Challenge" which I just tried for the first time today and loved. If doing this "Ab Challenge" gives abs like Violet, I'll let you know!
