wow, what an album, this group completly changes from him metal sound to this sound more atmospheric, more porcupine tree like, very good album. was a real surprise to me. Then i try natural disaster that leed to A fine day to exit and was also very pleased with those but not as much as this one. If there is somewhere to start with this band it's here, but be carefull, don'T buy all of their album , they were very metal before, for those who don't like metal, at least. I really like this new prog rock sound like no sound, pineapple thief, lunatic soul... really cool for prog rock amateur like me...

I was only vaguely familiar with Anathema before purchasing this album; I gather they were once a "doom metal" band, but certainly aren't now. This album is quite mellow and melancholy - not "metal" at all. The musicianship is superb, without being flashy; the vocals (male and female) are accessible and well suited to the music; the songs are consistently strong. The "sound" of the album is exceptional, which is not surprising since it was mixed by Steven Wilson (Porcupine tree), but I think this album is more melodic and has stronger songwriting than anything Porcupine Tree has done. I strongly recommend this album to fans of Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Riverside, and modern "progressive" music in general.

Buy this. right now. Don't press back on your browser!! Don't do it! your gonna miss out on the best prog album release of 2010! anyways, i paid well 60$ for this back home and dont regret a cent.
