Packaging was grossly neglected. The disk failed within a few minutes during the installation of the OS. It started to make noises and then was simply not recognized by the BIOS during boot-up process.
I had to have Western Digital send a new unit, still waiting for the new part.

We are a clinical firm that were very excited to get your HD SATA III to upgrade our servers, but our IT department was shocked to see the way the parcel was delivered and the packaging that you used to protect such sensitive devices- even baby toys are better rapped. Even if you are offering a return [policy and a warranty that comes with it, the data that are at risk and that was transferred to the hard drives are no recoverable- without paying double the price for the hard drive itself. Unfortunately this is was a great loss to us as we can’t send you the defected parts for replacement but, as they contain extremely confidential files for which the slightest possibility of data recovery from another agency would be considered a breach of Health Privacy Act. Still we are very dissatisfied with your merchandise and the way that it was sent to us.
2 of the HD stalled within around 30 min of data transfer. Our servers are i7 and all have SATA III ports.
I know about luck, but I don't believe in it, especially in business.
If you think of using this dealer again, think three times.

I purchased this drive to provide me with additional storage capacity on my Drobo backup system. Unfortunately, the drive was defective. But, without hesitation, Amazon sent me a replacement drive and made arrangements for me to ship the defective drive back to them without cost. This is why I buy with confidence from Amazon. The new drive is functioning fine and exactly meeting my backup storage needs. Good product. Good price. Great service.
